Dorothy Jackson Miller Obituary

SAUGERTIES-Dorothy Jackson Miller, 97, of Clermont St. died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home.   Born July 5, 1926 in Aquebogue, Long Island she was the daughter of the late Louis and Pattie Bell.   She was a graduate of Tuskegee College earning her degree in Nursing.

A Saugerties area resident since 1973 she was employed as a Nurse at the Kingston Hospital.  Dorothy was excellent cook and was know for her homemade choclate chip cookies.   A active Christian, Dorothy was a Evangelist Missionary for the Christian Field Missionary.  In recent years she attended the Shining Light Church in Barclay Heights, where she shared her spiritual knowledge to all.  

Predeceased by her first husband, LeRoy Jackson in 1991 and later by her second husband, Norman "Teddy" Miller in 2017 and a daughter, Lenora Jackson in 1974.    Survivors include, step children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday at the Shining Light Church in Barclay Heights.  Burial will follow in the New Paltz Rural Cemetery.   Friends will be received this evening from 7-9 PM at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc.
