SAUGERTIES….. Johanna C. Hoose, 78, of the Birches and formerly of Malden on Hudson died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. Born March 2, 1940 in Malden she was the daughter of the late William and Elmira Hoose. A lifetime area resident she was a graduate of Saugerties High School Class of 1957. Active in St. John’s Methodist Church in Malden she was the church organist since 1954 having taught herself the musical skills required in being head of the music ministry. Over the years she also played the organ for services at the Quarryville and Centerville Methodist Churches. She was the Church Treasurer at St. John’s and had served as President of the Women’s Society. She represented the Church at the Saugerties Area Council of Churches. In her spare time she loved arts and crafts.
Survivors include her nieces, Wendy Bell and Cindy Williams a nephew, Charles Williams, Jr. and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Williams, a niece, Brenda Martini and a grand niece, Krystal Bell.
Her Funeral Procession will form 9:15 AM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts. Thence to the Quarryville Methodist Church where at 10:00 AM her Funeral Service will be conducted. Burial will follow in the Katsbaan Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
