Agnes G. (Schaffer) Alecca

SAUGERTIES… Agnes G. Alecca, of Main St., died Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY.   Born May 7, 1946 in Malden on Hudson, NY she was the daughter of the late Fred and Agnes Farrell Schaffer.  A lifetime area resident Agnes worked at Simulaids, Ferroxcube and finally at the Saugerties High School during her career.  She was a member of the Saugerties Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary.

Predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Alecca, survivors include her long time companion, William Casal, a son, Scott and his wife Jen Reynolds of Saugerties and a step daughter, Penny Buck of Saugerties.  A brother, Joseph Schaffer of Saugerties.  She is survived by 9 grandchildren,  7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.   She was predeceased by her brothers: Jake, Fred, William and Vincent Schaffer.

Her Funeral Service will be held 8:15 PM on Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.   Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-8:15 PM.   Family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Saugerties Fire Dept.
