Barbara A. Brennan, 84, of Old Rte. 212, died Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home, Rhinebeck. Born January 21, 1941 in Saugerties she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (McCabe) Schultz.
A lifetime area resident she was a graduate of Saugerties High School Class. of 1958. She was employed for many years as a legal secretary.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas R. Brennan with whom she recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary; two sisters, Nancy Lucente and Gail Kieffer both of Saugerties; several nieces and nephews.
For over two decades, Barbara was a familiar and friendly face at Hudson Federal Savings in Kingston, where she worked with diligence and care. Her career later took her to Hudson Savings Bank in Hudson. In addition to her professional pursuits, Barbara was a devoted secretary for the Schirmer and Hrdlicka Law Firm. Her meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills were invaluable assets to the firm, and her warm personality made her a beloved figure within the legal community.
Barbara's interests and involvements extended far beyond her work life. In 1965, she joined and would become treasurer and life member with the Centerville Ladies Auxiliary, where her passion for service and community engagement found a perfect outlet. She also was the treasurer for the Ulster County Ladies Auxiliary for many years, Barbara's contributions were instrumental in supporting the organization's mission and activities.
A devout parishioner of St. John's the Evangelist Church, Barbara's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Her involvement in the church community was a testament to her belief in compassion, service, and the power of fellowship. Her voice graced parishioners as she was part of the St. Mary's Choir and the Sweet Adelines for an impressive 50 years.
Her Funeral Procession will form 9:30 AM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties thence to St. Mary of the Snow RC Church where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial will follow in the Blue Mt. Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Fireman’s Home in Hudson.
