SAUGERTIES - Barbara Schneider, 82, of Mt. View Ave. died peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Westchester Medical Center. Born May 13, 1943 in Saugerties she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elsie Lang. A lifetime area resident she was formerly employed at Sawyer Savings Bank and Helsmoortel Insurance Agency in Saugerties. She was an active member of the St Paul's Lutheran Church in West Camp and enjoyed reading in her spare time. Survivors include her husband, John Schneider and one son, John Schneider and his wife Joanne who currently reside in State College, PA. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ray Lang in 1996 and Gene Lang in 2020. Her services will be held privately at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., in Saugerties.
