Betty McDonald

SAUGERTIES….. Betty J. McDonald, 87, of the Blue Mt. Rd. died Friday, August 5, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.   Born July 15 1935 in Saugerties she was the daughter of the late Donald and Beatrice Becker.   She was a former employee of the Miranda Dress Factory in Saugerties and later at IBM in Kingston.    

Predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1995, survivors include two daughters: Denise Szekeres (Frank) of Kingston and Debra Dangelo (Nelson) of Elizaville.  A son, Thomas W. McDonald of West Palm Beach, FL.   A sister, Rita Symington of Saugerties. Grandchildren: Bernadette, Anthony, Nicole and Trevor.  Great-Grandchildren: Jack James and baby girl on the way (Ada Jean).

Betty loved time spent with her family and especially loved being a Grandma and a Great-Grandma.  She enjoyed gardening and taking pride in her home.  She loved shopping and eating out with her sister Rita, and time spent with her life-long friend, Ruthie, of over 80 years.  Mother, daughter weekends were very special to her.  

Her Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.    Burial will follow in the Blue Mt.
