Betty R. Peters, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on February 25, 1927, in Saugerties, NY, Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Elsie Martin Wolven.
Betty spent her childhood in Saugerties, where she developed a strong sense of community and service that would define her life. Betty was the loving mother of Bonnie (Jonathan) Eisenhamer of Fallston, MD, and the proud grandmother to Jonathan. She was a cherished sister to Robert "Mouse" Wolven. Betty was predeceased by her devoted husband of sixty-two years, Wallace Peters Jr., and her siblings, Gerald "Jake", Raymond "Bud", Earl "Snowball", William, and Patricia Magee, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Betty dedicated herself to the well-being of others as a nurse at Huttons Nursing Home. Outside of her professional life, Betty was an active and enthusiastic participant in her local community. She was a familiar face at the Saugerties Bowlers Club Monday Night League, where her competitive spirit and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among her fellow bowlers. Betty also volunteered her time and energy to the Saugerties Labor Day Softball Tournament, where she was an integral part of the food crew, contributing to the event's success and community spirit year after year.
Betty enjoyed cooking and gardening with her family. Her favorite hobby was crocheting and making hats and socks for her family to wear during hunting season. Her favorite place to visit with friends and family was the Malden River Park on the Hudson River.
A celebration of life will be held at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral home on Saturday, May 10 at 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
