Bree Ann Freese passed away suddenly on November 12, 2024, at the Albany Medical Center, at the age of 52. Born on February 21, 1972, in Kingston, NY, to Douglas and Kathleen Brone Freese, Bree was cherished by her family and the countless lives she touched.
A proud 1993 graduate of Saugerties High School, Bree dedicated her professional life to ensuring the comfort of travelers, cleaning and maintaining rest area restaurants along the NYS Thruway. She had an enormous capacity for friendship, evident in the local community. She became an integral part of her second family at ARC Apartments, Bree was known for the joy she brought to both staff and friends.
Bree's spirit was most vivid in her love for dancing. She was often described as the life of the party and would use any excuse to have one! She could transform the mundane into the extraordinary. Her interests extended to a deep love for anything purple, a color that seemed to reflect the vibrancy and warmth of her personality, and finally cats. When she bought any greeting card, it would always have a cat on the front. Her entire bed was covered with stuffed animals which would all be somehow piled onto one side before getting into bed. An often-used phrase, “I need a new one”, the suggestion to go shopping. Any travel area we stopped at, she came away with a tee shirt or a stuffed animal to be added to pile or shelf.
Survived by her loving parents, Douglas and Kathleen Freese, her sister, Lacy Hagen and her fiancé Ryan Peters, and her adored niece, Jordan and her partner James Lord, all from Saugerties, NY. Bree's legacy of love and laughter will live on through them. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she held each member close to her heart.
Bree was a person who embodied the essence of friendliness. Her approach to life was simple yet profound, as she found joy in making others smile. Her humor was a gift that she freely shared, ensuring that laughter was a constant companion in the lives of those around her.
We celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to our faces just as she always did. Her legacy of love, friendship, and laughter will remain a guiding force for all who knew her.
Her Funeral Service will be held 10 am Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Saugerties. Burial will follow at the Hurley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to The ARC Mid-Hudson Foundation - ARC Apts mailed to The ARC - Mid Hudson Foundation, 471 Albany Ave. Kingston, NY 12401.
