SAUGERTIES...Bruce M. Lydecker, 67, of Charles Hommel Rd., died Sunday February 26, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Cornwall, NY on January 10, 1955 to Lilly Mia Lydecker and the late John R. Lydecker. A military veteran, he was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving during the Vietnam War. Bruce then moved to Florida for 10 years and worked as a heavy equipment operator and foreman on highway projects. He then moved back to the Saugerties area and had a sand blasting and painting equipment business. He also worked for several local contractors as a operator and foreman. Bruce then established Blue Mountain Paving Inc in which he owned and operated for 18 years. Bruce also was a self taught electric guitar player and played in many bands. He was a member of the Saugerties American Legion Post 72 and a former member of the Saugerties Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his mother, Lilly; wife, of 28 years, Jerry; brother Michael (Lisa) Lydecker; sister, Suzanne (Mike),niece, Tiffany and nephews, Aiden and Iain.
His Funeral Service will be held 10 am Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mt. Marion Cemetery.
