Saugerties - Camilla C. Tompkins, 90, of Saugerties passed away early Thursday morning, May 30, 2024 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. Camilla was born January 10, 1934 in Westhampton, Long Island, NY. She was the daughter of the late Percy and Helen Brooks. A Saugerties resident for most of her life, she graduated from Saugerties High School and was employed for the FL Russell Corp and later Ferroxcube in Saugerties. Upon her retirement from Ferroxcube she was employed as both a bus driver and school bus aide at Lezette Express. She was a member of the Overlook Methodist church for many years as well as a long time member of the Saugerties Tuesday night Women’s Bowling League. Her favorite pastimes included crocheting, puzzling and watching the Yankees and Rangers. She is survived by her niece Nancy Pavlak (Pam), nephews John Brooks (Tracy) and Stephen Pavlak (Jeanette). Also surviving are her great niece Nicole Wilber (Michael) and great nephew Daniel Pavlak (Anna), as well as several great-great niece and nephews. Mel is predeceased by her husband Nelson G. Tompkins, sister Lorraine Pavlak and brother Robert R Brooks.
Her Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
