SAUGERTIES….. Charles E. Turk, III, 80, of Main St., died suddenly Wednesday at the Kingston City Hospital. Born November 30, 1941 in Lexington he was the son of the late Charles and Violet Turk.
A lifetime area resident, he graduated from Hunter-Tannersville High School, he owned and operated Ace Drill and Blasting Co. for many years and prior to that he worked with Turk Construction in Kingston. He loved the outdoors either hunting or fishing. Charlie was a life member of the Saugerties Fish and Game Club and a former member of the Saugerties Elks Lodge. He was affectionately known as the “King of Maple Syrup”.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky; two sons: John (Dorothy) Turk and Eddie (Tami) Pelham both of Saugerties; three daughters: Tina (Doug) Corbett of VA., Veronica (Billy) Voerg of Round Top and Stacie (Steve) Subcleff of Melrose, NY; brother, Orville (Laura) Turk of TN; sister: Evelyn (Mike) Troy of FL; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His Service of Remembrance will be held 8:15 PM Monday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 7-8:15 PM. Family suggests donations in his memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
