It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clayton Ashley Sylvester, age 67, who died on February 15, 2025. Born to the late Robert A. Sylvester and Marjorie G. Willigar. Survived by his daughters, Crystal (Thang) Pham and Joyce (Jacob) Heotzler, and grandchildren, Levi, Peter, Lily, Adaline, Harrison and Silas.
Clayton's life was marked by his boundless generosity, and passion for working with his hands.
Clayton's career was as varied and dynamic as the man himself. From his early days as a deckhand on tugboats to welding, owning a sawmill, and ultimately becoming a certified mechanic, Clayton's skills and work ethic were a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Throughout his many endeavors, he touched the lives of countless individuals with his kind heart and selfless spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His infectious laughter and warm presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He found joy in simple pleasures whether it was watching movies, telling jokes, watching the birds or taking a boat ride on the Hudson River.
In his passing, Clayton's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
