SAUGERTIES….Daniel C. Dargan, 80, of Lodge Rd. died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born January 3, 1941 in Saugerties he was the son of the late Clarence and Emma Ricks Dargan. A lifetime area resident he was employed at Ferroxcube and later at Micronetics.
Dan was an active life member of the Saugerties Elks Lodge #2574 where he had served on the House Committee, Coordinator / cook for the 450 and game dinner. He was a former member of the Saugerties Fish and Game Club. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time on the river with his family and friends. Dan also enjoyed going to the casino with his wife Barbara and family. He also was the leading pitcher for the Turk's Drilling and Blasting men's softball team, which he enjoyed very much.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Wade, they were married 57 years; two sons: Jake (spouse Brenda) Dargan of Fla. and David (spouse Mia) Dargan of Saugerties; a daughter, Tracey (spouse Tracy) Lewis of Saugerties; four grandchildren: Stephanie, Giavanna, Dean and Frankie Dargan; two step grandchildren Aliyah and Nathaniel Lewis; sister Betty Coons; a brother, Richard Steele and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Dargan and two siblings: David Steele and Ann Pine.
His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. corner of John & Lafayette Streets., Saugerties. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
