Dave Barton

Dave Barton, 82, of Kingston died on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Baptist Home, Rhinebeck, NY. Born December 9, 1941 in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the late Roberta and Summer Barton.  Dave was employed for 33 years as an IBM system programmer in Kingston and Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and Overlook Methodist Church where he was a long-time member of the church choir. He also sang with the Rhinebeck Choral and Mendelssohn clubs. Dave volunteered as an Angel Tree cook at St. John’s Episcopal Church and as a driver for Ulster County’s Neighbor to Neighbor program. 

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marilyn, three daughters: Christine Bell of Malta, Kathy Burns of Ruby and Leigh Anne Boyd of Rhode Island, and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Don Barton.
