David LaTourette

SAUGERTIES...David J. LaTourette, Jr., died Tuesday May 10, 2022, at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Facility. He was born in Brooklyn on September 28, 1933, to the late David and Anna Kohler LaTourette. He attended St. Francis Prep School in Brooklyn where he was a pitcher for the baseball team. Shortly after graduation he enlisted with the US Navy and served during the Korean War on the USS Johnston, he was honorably discharged and joined the Saugerties American Legion Post #72. Upon returning home he met the love of his life Mary Claire Geraghty. They married in 1956 and moved to Saugerties. David enjoyed coaching his children through Little League and was a member of the Saugerties Bowlers Club, SAA Softball, CYO Basketball, IBM Golf League, and Star Hill Golf Club in N.C. He was a parishioner and Communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. He had a long career with IBM, a member of the Quarter Century Club and retired in 1991. In his retirement, he and Mary moved to Swansboro, NC where they were "on vacation" for 25 years! Upon Mae's passing in 2014, Dave moved back to Saugerties to be closer to his family.

Dave was predeceased by his wife, Mae. He is survived by his sister Kathleen O'Reilly of FL; sister in law, Sr. Elizabeth Geraghty; loving father of daughter, Maureen (Mike) Rothe; sons, David (Rosemarie) LaTourette, Michael LaTourette and Edward (Christie) LaTourette all of Saugerties; grandchildren David and Christopher LaTourette, Melissa Colby, Michael Gunn, Myriah, Jenna and Ryan LaTourette, Lindsay, Caitlyn, Kimberly, Nicholas, Anthony, Edward and Bailey LaTourette, Mallory Renner, Heidi and Michael Rothe; great grandchildren: Mason, Liam, Christian, Isaiah, Mila, Paisley, Charlee, Everett, Michael and Merrick many cousins, nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Procession will form Saturday 9:15 am at the Seamon‐Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Thence to St. Mary of the Snow Church for a 10 am Funeral Mass. Visitation will be held Friday 2‐4 and 7‐9 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Saugerties American Legion.
