Dorianne L. Berman

LAKE KATRINE – Dorianne (Dori) Berman, formerly of Long Island, passed away on February 27, 2026  at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston.  Born December 18, 1961 in Brooklyn she was the daughter of the late Paul and Paula Berman. Dori bought her passion for life to everyday activities despite life’s challenges. Dori found joy in writing poetry and prose, in good food, and being in the company of friends and family. She loved her caring, nurturing home at TenBroeck Commons where she resided for the past 20+ years, and her long-time roomate, Mary.  She fully engaged with resident life as President of the Resident Council, member of the Red Hat Club and Gardening Club, and thoroughly enjoyed the activities provided by Larry and others daily. Dorianne was a powerful and outspoken resident council leader, always advocating for others' needs. Her family is ever grateful to all the staff on the Ashokan unit, with a special shoutout to Maryann who has been Dori’s guardian angel and skilled nurse from day one. Survivors include her sister Jane Polcovar, brother Bob (Marcy Zweig) Berman, niece Lara Polcovar, grand-niece Lily Polcovar-Horn and sister-in-law, Rita Berman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her Funeral Service will be held privately with interment in the Blue Mountain Cemetery, Saugerties. Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor.
