Douglas Edwards

SAUGERTIES...Douglas Edwards, 88, of Band Camp Rd, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at his residence.  Born September 17, 1934 in Palenville, he was the son of Frederick and Maude Craft Edwards. In 1954, he married his first love, Evelyn Lorz Edwards. He was employed for many years as a field engineer and finance officer at IBM.  Doug was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He enjoyed talking with family and friends, and the favorite parts of his days were spent with his grandchildren and their dogs.  He was an avid Yankee baseball fan, a collector of die cast cars, and could often be found on his tractor or golf cart puttering around his yard, and also delivering his famous tomatoes to loved ones.  
Survivors include his two daughters, Donna (Steven) Schmidt and Cheryl (Frank) Ferrendino, Jr, three grandchildren Tyler Schmidt, Kore, and Aero Ferrendino, his sister Marilyn (Paul) Pavlovich, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frederick "Junior" Edwards,Jr, Marvin "Duffer" Edwards, Harold Edwards, Guy Edwards, Eleanor "Honey" MacDowell, and his ex-wife Evelyn Edwards.  
His Funeral Service will be held privately at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.   A public graveside service with military honors will be held 10:00 AM on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Blue Mt. Cemetery in Saugerties.  Family suggests donations in his memory be made to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington St, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or online at hvhospice.org.
