Edna Brocco

SAUGERTIES - Edna Brocco, 90, of Birchwood Dr. died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home.  Born October 1, 1934 in Kingston she was the daughter of the late Homer and Corneila VanAken.    A lifetime area resident as a young girl she caddied at the Wiltwyck Golf Course and worked at several area dress factories during her lifetime.  She enjoyed her family and attending her son's little league and softball games rooting them on.  Her peaceful time was at the riverfront at the Glasco mini park or at Forsyth Park in Kingston.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph, Sr., survivors include three sons: Joseph, Jr. and his companion, Mary Ann Hunter, Michael (Joanne) and Wayne (Bonnie) Brocco.  Her sister's: Mary Demskie and Lois (Ralph) Caterino and a brother, Donald (Marilyn) VanAken.  Her granchildren: Nicole Maccaline, Scott and Christopher Brocco.  Eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.   She was predeceased by her siblings: Ruth Miller, Helen Naccarato, Sarah Tillson, Augustus, Harold and William VanAken.  

Her son, Joseph, would like to thank Mackenzie Ferrendino, and the many fine and dedicated people at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home & to Dr. Kyaw & Bridge St. family medicine for their kindness, compassion and care they gave towards his mom.

Her Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Monday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Friends will be received Sunday 1-4:00 PM.   Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on her Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
