SAUGERTIES....Elizabeth “Jean” Melville,  Elizabeth, who is “Jean” to all who knew her, 87, of 155 Main Street, passed peacefully on March 8, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was born on June 10, 1933, in Prattsville, NY she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dolly Quinn.

Jean was a graduate of Windham Ashland Jewett Central School, class of 1950. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s/St. Mary’s Church.  Jean retired from Verizon as an operator in 1982; she then went on to a second retirement from Adam’s Fairacre Farms, floral department in 2002.

Jean loved playing Mahjong with her weekly group as well as cards and bingo and really enjoyed her casino trips! Her family at 155 Main Street gave her lots of joy and she found her Peace at the river.

Her greatest gift was her love for her family, which she has passed on to her children, grandchildren and to those she touched in her extended family. She was Mom, Nanny (to so many), Gramma Jean, Sister, Aunt Jean, Mom Jovi and Friend.
