Elizabeth "Betty" Wolven

SAUGERTIES…. Elizabeth “Betty” Wolven, 99, of Washington Ave. died Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.  Born June 9, 1922 in Kingston she was the daughter of the late Bertram and Anna Read Snyder.  A lifetime area resident she received her Bachelor’s of Education Degree from SUNY New Paltz and taught for over 15 years first grade at the Grant D. Morse Elementary School. 

Betty was a former member of the Saugerties Public Library Board of Trustees and the Saugerties Garden Club.  An avid golfer she belonged over the years at the Sawyerkill and Woodstock Golf Clubs.

Predeceased by her first husband, Harold Hendrickson and her second husband, William Wolven, survivors include a son, David Read Hendrickson of Saugerties and her niece, Joyce Brayton of Malden on Hudson. 

Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, on Livingston St., Kingston, NY.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge, NY.  Family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Saugerties Public Library, Washington Ave., Saugerties.   Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc.
