Eric Helmedach Obituary
ATHENS .... Eric L. Helmedach, 60, of Leeds Athens Rd. died suddenly Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson, NY. Born July 22, 1964 in Catskill he was the son of the late Henry and Evelyn (Groff) Helmedach. A life long resident of the area, Eric attended Catskill High School. He was formerly employed by the Greene Co. Highway Dept. and worked many years at County Waste and the family-owned Catskill Chrome. Family was important to him and he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and race cars.
He is survived by a daughter, Erica and a son, Nicholas both of Saugerties, his former wife, Debora Helmedach of Saugerties, three brothers, Paul (Dawn) of Virginia, Joseph (Lillian) and Henry (Patricia) Helmedach and several nieces and nephews of Greene County. He was predeceased by a sister, Velyn Helmedach Thorne.
His Funeral Service will be held privately. A celebration of his life will be held Oct. 20, 2024. Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.
