SAUGERTIES - Esmond A. "Ezzie" Post, 75, of Nelson Hoff Rd. passed away peacefully Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Health Alliance Hospital, Mary's Ave., Kingston after battling long and hard a condition of COPD for almost two years. Born June 25, 1949 in Kingston he was the son of the late Esmond P. Post and Shirley Campbell. A lifetime area resident, Ezzie was a graduate of Saugerties High School and worked for several area construction companies. Ezzie was an avid Yankee fan as well he as was a lifetime musician/Lead Singer and also known by many as a “Saugerties Music Legend” . Over the course of his life he sang with, "Heart and Soul", "Android", "Mongoose", "Icom", "Lunger Brothers", "Orphan", and "Heavenly Charles". On many occasions he introduced the local band "Roadhouse" at many of their gigs.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, two sons: Donovan (Nadine) Cavallaro of Saugerties and Ezzie Post of Ca. Two daughters, Michelle (Jay) Post of CA. and Kayla Whitaker of Saugerties. Two Brothers, Terry of Caanan and Randy Post of Kingston and several grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Post and father Esmond Post.
His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Friends will be received on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
