SAUGERTIES….. Eugene W. Yarkin, 61, of Shear Rd.died Monday, June 19, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born May 6, 1962 and grew up in West Islip NY. He was the son of the late Richard and Gene Yarkin. An area resident for 13 years he previously resided in Big Indian, with his late wife Geri Kim Yarkin. He was employed for 34 years at Amtek/Rotron in Woodstock.
Eugene’s family, friends and co-workers were a very important part of his life. He had a love for ccamping , bon fires, hot rods, polish food and music. Always being quick witted and find the humor in most situations. He fought courageously for 18 months against an overpowering disease. Beloved by many, his light will continue to shine in those he loved.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Monaghan, a daughter, Ashley Yarkin of Saugerties, a son, EJ Yarkin of Kingston and a step son, Michael Livermore of Wappinger Falls, in-laws Joan and Frank Monaghan. Two sisters: Wanda Maher and Christine Yarkin both of L.I. Two brothers: Richard and Glenn Yarkin both of Fla. Several special nieces, nephews , cousins and his dogs, Sugar and Jack.
In lieu of flowers make a donation to Hospice in his name.
