Felice "Phil" Gori Obituary

Felice “Phil” Gori passed away peacefully at his residence in Saugerties, NY on June 28, 2025, at the age of 93. Born December 19, 1931, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Ernani and Ambrosina Quigini Gori. Phil lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his community.

Phil’s academic journey began at Cardinal Hayes High School, where he attended on a full scholarship and graduated with the class of 1950. Following his graduation, Phil enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably in the Korean War. His thirst for knowledge led him to further his education at RCA Institutes, setting the stage for a remarkable career. In 1955, Phil joined IBM where he dedicated 36 years of service as a systems analyst and master in chip design until his retirement in 1991.

The year 1956 was a milestone for Phil as he married his childhood sweetheart Linda Moscatiello on April 7th. Their union was blessed with love and laughter until Linda’s passing in 2008. Together they raised a family that Phil cherished above all else. Survivors include his three daughters Gina (Kim) Kiniry of Saugerties, Diane Cole of Greenville, SC, and Patricia (Ernie) Guerriero of Saugerties; daughter-in-law Virginia Gori; his sister-in-law Carmella Gori of New Rochelle; grandchildren Kristofer (Alysa Rothe) and Jonathan Kiniry, Adam (Marley) Cole, Maria (Keith Anderson) Gori, Sara (Brian) Burke, Olivia (Michael) Harris, Gabriela (Christopher) Masucci, Andrew Fishlinger and Emily (Marc) Smith; and great-grandchildren Avri, Jacob, and Jordan Cole, Molly and Ivy Burke, Gemma and Sofia Harris, Leilani Anderson, Dominic Masucci, and Emma and Jack Smith; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored. He is predeceased by his son David Gori and his brother Lido Gori.

Phil’s Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through times of joy and sorrow. His involvement in the community included membership in the IBM Quarter Century Club and the Sons of Italy in America. Phil was an avid sports fan who created an unbreakable bond with his late son David; their mutual love of sports was a connection he deeply treasured. He was a lifelong fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants.

His funeral procession will form 9:15am Thursday at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets, Saugerties. Procession will continue to St. Mary of the Snow Church, where Phil’s faith and spirit will be honored at a 10am funeral mass. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude or Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals. Further obituary information and expressions of condolence at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com.
