Frances M. Moore, 89, of Mountain View Avenue, passed away peacefully on January 30 and has now been reunited with her loving husband, Earl, in heaven. She was born in Tarrytown, NY on August 28, 1934, to the late Kenneth and Alicia Larsen Brown. Fran is the loving mother of two children, Mari Kim Moore of Rotterdam and Kyle (Ingrid) Moore of Saugerties. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Woodhull of Hannacroix, and dear cousins Alicia and Joe Fox of Palm Coast, FL, and Cheryl Reyngoudt of Manchester, CT. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Earl, of 56 years in 2013.
Mrs. Moore was a caring kindergarten teacher for over 20 years at Cahill Elementary School in Saugerties. Her radiant smile was a warm welcome to those children beginning something so new to them. She established the foundation for hundreds of students to develop and excel in their subsequent schooling years. Frances was a member of the Saugerties United Methodist Church and Monday Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, opera, bridge, and playing tennis, but her most favorite activity was spending time in Lake Luzerne under the pine trees.
Miss Fran, as she was called, spent the last several years of her life as a resident of Ivy Lodge in Saugerties where she received excellent care and support through her struggles with dementia from a wonderful, compassionate, and caring staff. They were her angels sent from above.
There will be a private celebration of her life with interment at Blue Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association. Further obituary information and expressions of condolence may be shared at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
