G. Muriel (Craw) Finger

G. Muriel Finger, 91, of Crescent Drive in Saugerties, NY, died Sunday January 21, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born August 11, 1932, in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Ruth Kennedy Craw.

An area resident for many years she graduated from Saugerties High School and attended Houghton College and Moran Business School. She worked for Saugerties Savings Bank, Olive Insurance Company, Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp., First National Bank of El Paso, Texas, McNally Real Estate, Home-Seeker’s Savings & Loan. Lastly, she worked for Beacon Federal Savings Bank where she was an Assistant Vice President. She oversaw all transactions from mortgage originations to closings, and general guidance of the Student Loan Dept. and mortgage servicing department. She was also a trustee at the bank for the Government Resolution Trust Corp. for one year.

Muriel had many interests including figure ice skating, dance roller skating, playing the piano, biking, hiking, home dinner parties, sewing, cooking, and loved skiing and traveling all over the world. She attended the First Baptist Church where she was the clerk for four years and treasurer for two. She enjoyed singing and sang in the church choir for 24 years. For fifteen years she was a leader for Pioneer Girls Youth Group and sang with the Mid-Hudson Women’s Choral Society for 10 years. From 2011-2019 she sang with the Bard College Symphonic Chorus.

Most of all she loved her family. Predeceased by her husband, Bob, who also died on January 21, in 2002; they were happily married for 49 years. Survivors include two sons, Kevin Finger of Saugerties, NY, and Kenneth C. Finger, of Worcester, MA. Two daughters-in-law, Maria Restivo of Ulster Park, NY, and Patricia LaFleur, of Worcester, MA. Four grandchildren, Elizabeth Finger of Saugerties, NY, Matthew Finger of Salt Lake City, UT, Kristina (and Jesse C.) Assenza of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Kelley Finger of Worcester, MA. She is also survived by her only sibling, her younger brother, Gordon (and Barbara) Craw of Saugerties, NY.    

Her Service of Remembrance will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.  Interment will follow in the Blue Mt.
