SAUGERTIES- Gail Sharrett Ledwith, age 81, passed away peacefully, on June 9, 2024, at Northern Dutchess Hospital with family by her side. She was born in Staten Island, NY on August 25, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Keenan) Sharrett.
Gail is predeceased by her husband James Ledwith. She is survived by her daughter, Kerri Seidman of Yorktown Heights, NY, her husband Brian and her cherished grandchildren, Justin and Elyssa. She also leaves behind four loving sisters; Arlene Ruff of Saugerties, Beverly Sharrett of Kingston, Carol (Richard) Sauer of Kingston and Alice (Ali) Reis of Naples, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Known for her kindness and warmth, Gail touched the lives of many with her generous spirit. Family was the most important part of her life. More than anything, she loved spending time with her twin grandchildren. She enjoyed daily visits with her four sisters and looked forward to their annual trips to Florida or Cape Cod.
A Saugerties resident for most of her life, she was a graduate of Saugerties High School and Albany Business School. Professionally, she held several secretarial positions, including her years enjoyed at WKNY. Following this she worked for many years at Praetorius and Conrad PC before retiring in 2018. She found enjoyment in her involvement in many local groups; Friends of the Saugerties Library, The Columbiettes, The Red Hatters, Saugerties Senior Citizen’s Club, and SSIP. She was a longtime New York Mets fan. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
​Her Funeral Procession will form 9:15 am Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc. Procession will continue to the St. Mary of the Snow church where a 10 am Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will follow in the St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Friends of the Saugerties Library.
