Gil Rivera Obituary
GLASCO- Gil Rivera, 61, of Delaware St. died Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Health Alliance Hospital. Born December 28, 1962 in Brooklyn he was the son of Felix Rivera and the late Maria Rivera.
Besides his father, survivors include his wife of 44 years, the former Lidia Valguarnera, one daughter, Alexis Rivera of Glasco and a son, Daniel and his wife, Jennifer Rivera of Hurley. Three sisters, Ida (Russell) Shanks of New Jersey, Carla and Bernice Rivera both of Puerto Rico. Two brothers, Noe (Nerina) Rivera of Saugerties and David Ferrer of NYC. He was predeceased by a brother, Edgar Ferrer.
Gil found joy and solace in music, documentaries, and the grace of God. He immersed himself in stories of triumph, tragedy, and truth, finding beauty in the rawness of reality. While Gil left us far too soon his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by his passion and kindness. Rest in peace, dear Gil, your love and light will forever shine bright.
His Funeral Service will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Friends will be received on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
