DOVER - Harry W. Wager Sr., 86, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on March 11, 2026 in Dover, Delaware, after a long period of health issues.
He was born on June 18, 1939, in Catskill to Harry C. Wager and Eleanor Wager of Catskill.
He trusted Jesus as his personal Savior and spent a lifetime learning and following the precepts of God’s Word.
Harry worked at Agway in Catskill for 35 years, then went to work for the Village of Catskill until his retirement. Throughout his life he was a faithful member of his church. He was involved with First Baptist Church of Saugerties and later First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck where he served as an usher and greeter.
He loved camping with his family throughout New England and enjoyed traveling to SAC and Word of Life in Florida where he and his wife faithfully served the Lord in many ways. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his great grandchildren.
He was faithfully married to his wife Vera for sixty plus years. His devotion to his marriage and family is a part of the legacy he leaves to the next generations
He is survived by his sons Harry W. Wager, Jr and Lance (Charlene) Wager; his grandchildren Elizabeth Wager, Emily (Daeshawn) Rose, Benjamin (Eileen) Wager; and his great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Eleanor Wager, and his wife, Vera M. Wager, his brother Donald Wager, his sister Gail Mokhiber, as well as his grandson Joshua Thomas Wager.
His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Dimock Cemetery in Dimock, PA.
