Jack Francis Smythe, 23 of Joseph’s Drive died Tuesday June 18th at the Kingston Hospital. He was born in Rhinebeck on July 18, 2000 to Amy Rothe & Timothy Smythe. Growing up he loved spending time with friends & family and exploring the outdoors. He served as Saugerties class president both junior & senior year and graduated with honors. He continued his desire to learn, furthering his education at University of California at Berkeley finding a love and passion for organic chemistry. He wanted to research & study psychedelic treatment therapy to help others who suffer from trauma & addiction. He was very excited to go back to school this fall. Jacks other greatest love was music. He was a very talented musician and learned to play many instruments.
He is survived by his mother Amy Rothe, stepfather Jimmy Ferrendino, father Timothy Smythe, sister Savanna Staccio, grandfathers Richard R. Rothe (Goldie Patrick) and Timothy Smythe Sr., uncles Richard J. Rothe (Jill Rothe) & children, Larrimore Rothe (Caitlin Rothe) & children. He was predeceased by his grandmother Sharon Rothe & Linda Smythe and his great grandmother Ann Vitarius.
His Funeral Service will be held 9:30 am Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc. Following the service, his procession will continue to the Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial tribute book will be organized using condolences and photos shared with the family at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
