Jacqueline (Vallieres) Lareau

SAUGERTIES - Jacqueline (Vallieres) Lareau passed away on May 15, 2026 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, after a brief stay in the hospital.

Daughter of the late Joseph & Regina Vallieres, Jacqueline was born June 12, 1931 in La Patrie, Quebec, Canada, where she met her husband Bertrand. After getting married in 1954, they moved to Berlin, New Hampshire, made a home in Freehold, New Jersey for 11 years, before settling in Saugerties, New York in 1973. She had a long career at National Micronetics until she retired in the early 1990’s. She proudly became an American citizen at the age of 77.

Her home was open to everyone and it was a revolving door of family and friends throughout her life. Jacqueline’s family meant everything to her and she always made sure there was enough space and food for everyone.

She enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking, gardening, playing cards, and watched all the New York Rangers and Yankees games she could. She was especially known for her pies and Christmas cookies. She was very close with her siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and spent many evenings on the phone with friends and family in Canada.

Jacqueline was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Regina, her husband Bertrand, her son Ronald, her brothers Conrad, Gilles, Bertrand, Jean-Claude, her twin brother Jacques, her sisters Rejeanne and Pierette, and her son-in-law Philip. She is survived by her daughter Diane (Faraday), her three grandchildren, Kevin (Cameron), Ryan (Alexandra), Caitlin, and her three great grandchildren Amelia, Jack, and Saoirse. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and wonderful friends.

To honor Jacqueline’s life, family and friends will gather on Thursday, May 21st from 4-8 pm at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, 45 John Street, Saugerties. Her Funeral Procession will form 9:15 AM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. thence to St. Mary of the Snow RC Church where at 10:00 AM a  mass of Christian Burial will be offered.  Internment will follow  at Blue Mountain Cemetery.
