James Cleaver Obituary

James “Jim” D. Cleaver, 95, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Jim was a beloved husband of seventy years to his wife Jane; a caring father to Linda (Tom) Roessner of Saugerties and Diane (Abe) Newman of FL; a grandfather to John (Nicole) Roessner, Jennifer (Zac) Torok, Lindsey Newman and Ashley Newman; and a great-grandfather to Payton Roessner and Cameron Newman.

Born in 1930 in Paterson, NJ to the late Dave and Anita Cleaver, Jim served his country proudly in the US Army and was honorably discharged after the Korean War ended in 1953. Following his return home, he dedicated his entire career to the The Okonite Company in Ramsey, NJ until his retirement in 1998. After retiring, Jim and Jane moved to Manahawkin, NJ where they would create endless family memories while enjoying everything the Jersey Shore had to offer.

His Funeral Service will be private. He will be laid to rest in the White Cedars Memorial Park in NJ. Please share a memory or a photo in his tribute book at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
