Obituary
SAUGERTIES…. James T. Whelan, 31, of Boxwood Ct. died Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Guthrie Cortland Memorial Hospital, Cortland, NY. Born September 24, 1991 in Poughkeepsie he was the son of James and Kristin Higgins Whelan. A graduate of Saugerties High School, Class of 2009, he served in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of UCCC and a current student at SUNY Cortland majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Besides his parents of Saugerties, he is survived by his maternal grandmother Jean and her husband Charles Smith and his paternal grandfather Gary and his wife Murial Higgins all of Florida. Two sisters: Krystal Smith of Malden and Nicole and her husband Jon Hindes of Orlando, Fla. Four nephews: Elliot Hindes, TK, Wyatt and Ryder Smith. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Friends will be received on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial Tribute Book will be organized using photos and condolences shared with the family at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
