Jeremiah F. "Jerry" O'Connell

SAUGERTIES -  Jeremiah F. "Jerry" O'Connell, 84,  died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.  Born June 21, 1939 in the Bronx he was the son of the late James and Ellen O'Connell.   A Veteran of the Vietnam War he served in the US Marine Corp.

He was employed for many years as a union sheet metal worker and later in life,  he pursued his second career as a Teacher in the Kingston City Schools Consolidated.  

A parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow RC Church,  he served as an usher and a volunteer at the annual Church Bazaar.   Family was a very important part of his life, he loved the Catskill Mountains, Sinatra  and the  NY Yankees.

Predeceased by his wife Dori, survivors include two daughters: Kristin (Mark) Houston of Delmar and Shannon O'Connell of West Saugerties.   Three sons: Daniel of West Saugerties , Owen (Alicia) of Highland and Joseph (Kristen) O'Connell of Lake Katrine.   A brother, James (Ann) O'Connell of E. Patchogue 6 Grandchildren: Carter, Connor, Adaline, Isobel, Charlotte and Madison and several nieces and nephews also survive.  He was Predeceased by his siblings: Helen, John and Thomas. 

His Funeral Procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties, thence to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.   Interment with military honors will follow in Blue Mt.
