Joan F. Maier

CATSKILL - Joan F. Maier, 92, of Tao Rd. and formerly of Louis Ave., in Saugerties died Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.  Born September 21, 1933 in Queens she was the daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Sanger Blass.

For several years she was a Court Aide and the Ulster County Courthouse.  Active in the community she volunteered in her later years at the Kingston Hospital and Well Thrift Store in Saugerties.  She was an active member of the Saugerties Atonement Lutheran Church.

Predeceased by her 1st husband, Andreas in 1987, a brother, Charles Blass, a companion, George Turner and a daughter in law, Karyn Maier.   Survivors include two sons: Christian (Kimberley) of Rochester and Andreas Maier of Catskill.  Five grandsons: Christian (Carolyn), Andreas Jr. (Lindsay), Eric (Christina), Michael, Aaron (Caitlin).  Six great grandchildren: Rebecca, Julia, Oliver, Thomas, Haley, Ashley and Aiden, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.   Family suggests donations in her memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Joan's Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.
