John Harris Obituary
SAUGERTIES - John R. Harris, 88, of Commons Lane died Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. Born June 23, 1938 in Saugerties he was the son of the late Jack and Esther Harris. A lifetime area resident he was employed with IBM in Kingston for 37 years. Active in the community, John was on the Saugerties School Board for nine years serving as President. He also supervised and managed the Saugerties Senior Housing on Main Street in Saugerties for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Beverly Hrdlicka, with whom he recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. A son, John and his wife Abigail Harris of Syracuse, and a daughter, Christine and her husband, Simon Wakely of California. A sister, Linda Harris of N. Carolina and five grandchildren also survive.
His Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Friends will be received on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 PM.
