SAUGERTIES….. John K. “Butch” Tomaseski, 83, of Birchwood Dr. died Sunday, July 24, 2022 in the New Paltz Nursing Center. Born June 18, 1939 in Kingston he was the son of the late John and Dolores Tomaseski.
An area resident for many years he was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. “JT” was employed for many years at Ferroxcube in Saugerties. Active in the various Saugerties Athletic Association Leagues he played on numerous softball, basketball, flag football and volleyball teams where friendships were formed. Involved with his children he often coaches their Little League, Babe Ruth League and CYO teams. He belonged to the White Eagle in Kingston and the Saugerties American Legion Post #72.
Predeceased by his wife Mary in 2018, survivors include two daughters: Patricia (Thomas) Tomaseski-Schneller of Hurley and Karen Fiore of Saugerties. Two sons: Michael (Patricia) Tomaseski of Staatsburg and Jeffrey Tomaseski of Saugerties. Five grandchildren: Maximilian (Brooke Littlefield) Schneller, Mary Schneller, Alyssa Fiore, Anya and Sydney Tomaseski also survive.
His Funeral Procession will form 9:45 AM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties thence to St. Mary of the Snow RC Church where at 10:30 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Family suggests donations in his memory be made to the SAA, PO Box 51 or the Saugerties American Legion Sports Committee, 30 John St., Saugerties 12477.
