Joy Stauss

Joy C. Stauss, 76, of Finger St., died Friday, October 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her twin sister and friends. Born in Kingston on April 7, 1946 to the late Harry S. and Dorothy Hennegan Stauss. She was employed for 44 years at Sawyer Savings Bank, retiring as Vice President. She was an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow Church. Joy was a former Treasurer of the Saugerties Unit of the Salvation Army, member of the Society for Human Resource Management and served on the Ulster County Community College’s Women in Support of Education Committee. She was a member of the National Association of Bank Women and The Savings Banks Women of Upper New York State.

She was predeceased by her aunts, Mary Coons and Janet Goglia and cousins, Frankie Goglia and Cindy Coons. She is survived by her twin sister, Janet T. Stauss; cousins, Stephen Goglia of Branford, CT and Jeffrey and Garth Coons of Saugerties and many dear friends.

Her Funeral Procession will form Monday 9:45 am at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home. Procession will continue to the St. Mary of the Snow church where a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial will follow in the St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-6 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Saugerties Area Council of Churches Food Bank, PO Box 723, Saugerties.
