Joyce A. Archer, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY. She was born on December 23, 1937, in Clifton, NJ, to the late William and Cecilia (McLaughlin) Stefanacci.
Joyce was predeceased by her loving parents, William and Cecelia (McLaughlin) Stefanacci, her devoted husband, James Archer, Sr., her brother, William Stefanacci, son’s James; Jr., Joseph and Robert, her son-in-law, James Wright and her beloved grandson, Mathew Wright. Her legacy of faith, love and compassion lives on through her children, William (Johanna) Archer, Elizabeth Wright, Kathleen (Mark) Prinz, and, her four adoring grandchildren, Jimmy, Christopher, Tommy and Derek, who will continue to be inspired by her memory.
After earning her Bachelor's Degree, Joyce embarked on a fulfilling career as an Elementary Grammar School Teacher in her hometown of Clifton, NJ. She touched the lives of all her students through her passionate guidance and countless others over the year’s either at church functions, volunteering for the Clifton Youth Week or contributing to the Relay for Life in memory of her loved ones.
Her commitment to faith was evident through her active membership at St. Paul's RC Church in Clifton, NJ and her daily prayers for anyone in need. She also had a special connection with St. Padre Pio, not just his renowned miracles but his deep spirituality but his wisdom about prayer and love for humanity. Her love for adventure, family traditions, holiday celebrations, parades and the simple pleasures of life shone brightly in all she encountered. Many memories were made during family vacations and trips to Atlantic City, where she enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and the thrill of new experiences and musical entertainment.
Joyce's life will be celebrated by her family, friends, and the many students whose lives she enriched. Private ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
