Joyce Doty passed away surrounded with love on December 9, 2025, at the age of 70 in Albany, NY. She was born on April 18, 1955, in Kingston.
Joyce's legacy is carried on by her beloved daughters, Amanda (Brian Lubanski) Doty of Saugerties, Megan (Brandon) Schoonmaker of Saugerties, and Shannon (Matthew) Perrotta of Shokan, as well as her sister Rosanne Lang. Joyce is predeceased by her mother, Margaret Lang, and her brother, Timmy Lang.
A grandmother of eight, Joyce's grandchildren—Faith, Destiny, Ava, Paige, Harleigh, Keegan, Schuyler, and Abygail—were the light of her life.
From New York to Arizona and Colorado, there is a world of people forever less without this woman, mother, and friend. Whether it was a call or a text, she stayed in your life. If you were her friend or family, she would give when she had it, and even if her tenacity turned to stubbornness, there was something about her presence that you could always count on. She was like a force of nature: powerful, strong, and intense, but always true to herself.
Joyce worked for many years in various ways in Woodstock as a part of a community that she loved. Her love for animals was profound, and her dog Nick was a constant and loving companion. She gave herself to the things that spoke to her, like her deep spirituality and love of music. One of Joyce's most treasured memories was her trip to France as a teenage girl. The experience of visiting the Eiffel Tower left a significant mark on her heart, and she often reminisced about the beauty of that iconic landmark.
Her Funeral Service will be held 6pm Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. A visitation time will be prior to service from 3-6pm. Further obituary information may be found at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
