Katherine A. Bruno

MT. MARION....Katherine A. Bruno, 66, of Country Club Dr., died Sunday April 23, 2023 at the St. Peter's Hospital, Albany after a brief and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 23, 1956 to the late John N. and Sadie Davis Hoy. Kathy’s love for animals was as great as her love for fast cars.  Kathy had a beautiful smile which could light up a room, an infectious giggle and a loving and generous heart. Her kind spirit and gentle soul deeply touched everyone she met.  

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Patrick; children, Jennifer (Brian) Lyons of Saugerties and BethAnn Bruno of Glasco; grandchildren, Mikayla Bruno (Nicholas Tumale) and

D’Artagnan Vanacore (Ashely Bernhardt); siblings, Richard (Laurie) Hoy, Susan (Robert) Newkirk, Gloria (Stephen) Bonesteel and William (Deborah) Hoy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her sibling Jackie Hoy.

Lord please pick a bunch for us,

Place them in Kathy’s arms

And tell her they’re from everyone.

Tell her we love her and miss her

And when she turns to smile,

Place a kiss upon her cheek

And hold her for awhile.

Her Funeral Service will be held 8pm Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-8pm Friday. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Ulster County SPCA.
