Linda Beck

Linda A. Beck, 53, of Saugerties, NY and formerly of Pine Bush, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, peacefully at her residence surrounded by family, after valiantly living with an aggressive cancer. 

Linda was born on August 22, 1970 in Queens, NY, the daughter of Sophie Iwanejko Grella and the late Paul A. Grella. 

She is survived by her Love, John Staby of Saugerties, NY; her mother Sophie Grella of Pine Bush, NY formerly of Howard Beach, NY; sister Susan Rowley and her husband Mike of Cresskill NJ; niece Meg Rowley and nephew James Rowley; along with Caitlin and Olivia Staby and other members of the Staby family who have welcomed her into their family over the years.

Linda was a devoted mother to all her rescued fur babies, Chester, Jake, and Bailey, and survived by Coco. She treasured hiking and spending time with them. Linda also loved to travel and especially enjoyed camping since childhood; her European adventures and relaxing beach vacations with John; and her many Disney/Universal trips with friends and family. 

Linda will be remembered by family and friends as being funny and insightful; kind and generous; devoted and compassionate; strong and self-reliant; and quietly fierce and resilient. She will also be fondly remembered for being one-of-a-kind; passionate about having and following her dreams; a shining star. Co-workers will remember her as dedicated with a strong work ethic and a friendly personality which brought people together.

Her Funeral Procession will form 9:15 am Thursday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties NY. Procession will continue to St. Mary of the Snow Church for a 10 am Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 pm on Wednesday. Memorial contributions and remembrances may be made in Linda’s name to the Saugarties Animal Shelter.
