SAUGERTIES - Lois Riter, 83, formerly of Sterley Ave., died February 2, 2025 at the home of her daughter in Franklin Park, NJ. Born December 20, 1941 in Paterson, NJ she was the daughter of the late Marinus and Edith Riter;
A graduate of Caldwell College (BS in Pre-Med) and SUNY New Paltz (MA in Education).
Lois began a 2nd career as a teacher in 1974. She excelled in her career path. So much so, that she retired as the Assistant Superintendent of the Kingston City Schools in July 2004. During her 30 yr career she helped countless children realize their potential.
Survivors include her daughter, Victoria Roth of Franklin Park, NJ and a son, Joseph Roth of Killingworth, CT. Three grandchildren, Storm Johnson, Zachary and Emily Roth survive. She was predeceased by grandson, Isaac Johnson. Her Service of Remembrance will be held 12:15 PM on Saturday 5/3 at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Friends will be received prior to the service from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm. Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Lois's Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
