Margaret Barris

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Barris, who died Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Valatie. She was 62. Margaret, a resident of Pinewoods Rd. in East Durham, was born on November 11, 1962, in Kingston, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Whitaker) Barris.

Margaret will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and a laughter that effortlessly lit up any room she entered. She found simple joy in life's little pleasures, particularly a good Queen Anne cherry or any sweet treat enjoyed with a cup of coffee. She also took great joy in spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving children: her two daughters, Kristin Erlandson of California and Margaret Barris of New York, and her two sons, Kevin Lawson and Kyle Stogsdall, both of California. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved son, Kenneth Erlandson.

She is also survived by her sister, Darcy Barris, and her brother, Joseph Barris. Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Terri Barris. Margaret was a joyful aunt to her nieces and nephews: Wayne, Andrew, Sahar, Azeeza, and Aisha.

Margaret's Funeral Services were held privately. The family will carry forward her joyful spirit and the light of her memory.
