We are saddened by the passing of my big sister, Meredith (Merri) Sue Hollander in the evening of November 15, 2023, at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingston, after a battle with dementia that lasted years. She was 77.
Merri was born February 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, to Elaine and Bernard Hollander. She grew up in Roslyn, NY, and graduated Roslyn High School. She is remembered and beloved by the many friends she made there.
Merri worked for a few years in the magazine industry and later conducted tag sales in and around Bergen County, New Jersey, where she lived much of her adult life. She was loved and respected by a family of friends with whom she worked and played.
She is survived by me, her brother, Brian Hollander and my wife, Francine Bruno Hollander of Woodstock; our son, Merri’s nephew, Jonah Bruno, his wife Rachel Nicotra and their two boys, Che and Davi. She is also survived by our daughter Abby Hollander Levitt, her husband Gary Levitt and their two children, Ruby and Jude.
My big sister Merri lived with a sweet smile on her face and a temperament to match it. She was, and remains much loved by her family and friends. She is dearly missed by all who knew her.
A private memorial was held for Merri.
