Michael Stanley Kogut, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the Golden Hill Nursing Home at the age of 75. He was born on March 16, 1950, in Kingston, to the late Stanley and Gertrude (Barnum) Kogut.
Mickey was predeceased by his brothers, Eddy Green, Richard Green, Billy Green, Stanley Kogut, Jr., and Richard Kogut. His legacy continues through his beloved wife, Nancy, with whom he shared countless treasured memories. He was a devoted father to Kelli Kogut of Saugerties, Wendy (Daniel) Kogut-Doyle of East Stroudsburg, Michael Kogut, Jr., and April (Tony Gambino) Kogut, both of Saugerties. A caring brother to, Tina Rhoades, Margaret Hayes and Patricia Green. Michael's joy was multiplied by the laughter and love of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
For many years, Mickey applied his skilled hands and sharp mind as a machinist at LoDolce Machine Shop Inc., a steel fabricating facility. He was a respected colleague and a mentor to many, always willing to share his knowledge and experience.
Mickey's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid fisherman, particularly on the Hudson River, where he enjoyed the thrill of the catch. His love for the outdoors was also evident in his fondness for camping at Whip-o-Will Campgrounds, where he created lasting memories with family and friends. Michael's keen eye for detail was also reflected in his hobby as a coin collector, a pursuit that brought him great satisfaction and a sense of historical connection.
Above all, Mickey cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Whether he was teaching them how to cast a line or sharing stories around a campfire, these moments were the highlights of his life. His wisdom, humor, and kindness left an indelible mark on their hearts, and his lessons will guide them throughout their lives.
His Funeral Service will be held 10 am Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Katsbaan Cemetery.
