Noёl Defino, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Saugerties, NY, on November 2, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1967, in Kingston, NY, to the late Joseph, Sr. and Beverly Ann Corrigan Defino.
Her memory will be treasured and kept alive by her siblings, Melissa Cody of Catskill, Dawn Defino, Joe (Judy) Defino, and William, all of Saugerties, Dean (Whitney) Defino of CT, Nicole (Mike) Flanigan of East Amherst, Gabrielle (Bob) Baker of Saugerties, Vanessa (Geoffrey) Loviza of Saugerties and several nieces and nephews. Noёl's special dog, Beanie, also survives her, who was a constant companion and source of joy in her life.
Noёl's professional life was as impactful as her personal one. She was a respected Tae Kwon Do Instructor, instilling discipline, respect, and self-confidence in her students. She also worked at Maverick Family Health . Noёl was a beloved member of the community. She was innately generous with her time and treasure. In her spare time she was an avid supporter and volunteer for The St. John’s Food Pantry, Hope Rocks, The Pearl Foundation, St. Judes, and Saugerties Animal Shelter. Noёl was also a Eucharistic minister at St John the Evangelist Church, involved in Cursillo and a mental health advocate.
Noёl loved her music. From her phone, car or room you could always hear the sounds of Joni Mitchell, Janice Ian or Stevie Nicks. They were her muses to guide her through life. Noёl adored and accepted people for who they were, listened without judgement, spoke with gentility and kindness, and made everyone feel their value. In her presence, you were seen, known and loved. She was a shining example of unconditional love.
The Funeral Procession for Noёl will form at 8:45 am on Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties thence to St. Mary of the Snow RC Church where at 9:30 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Those who wish to pay their respects can attend the visitation, which will be held on Friday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
