Paul A. Pavlovich

Paul A. Pavlovich, 91, a resident of Finger Street for 65 years, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 26, 2023, with his family by his side.   

Born November 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Paul and Loretta Pekovitch Pavlovich. Growing up in Cementon, New York, surrounded by his extended family, Paul was proud of his Croatian heritage. He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Academy in Catskill, and Albany Business College, where he was a member of Phi Theta Pi fraternity.  Upon graduation he proudly served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 at European Command Headquarters in Paris, France.

Following his military service Paul joined the IBM Corporation in Kingston, New York where he enjoyed a successful 37-year career.

Active in the community, Paul was a New York State certified assessor. He served as Town of Saugerties Assessor for 22 years and then again in retirement as the assistant assessor for six years. He volunteered as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union for 40 years, serving as Chairman of the Board for many years. He was member of the Saugerties Jaycees, the Saugerties Lions Club, American Legion Post 72, and Chairman of the Ulster County Cancer Crusade for several years. 

Survivors include his devoted wife of 70 years, Marilyn, his beloved daughter, Toni Anderson and her husband Gary, his cherished granddaughter, Joni Leigh Casady and her husband Sean, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

His funeral service will be held privately with the burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill with military honors.  Family suggests donations in his memory be made to Diaz Memorial Ambulance at www.diazambulance.org.
