LAKE KATRINE….. Philip J. Van Etten, 87, of Van Etten Lane died Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Kingston Hospital. Born May 8, 1933 in Kingston he was the son of the late Cortland and Mabel Van Etten. A Veteran of the US Air Force, he was stationed in Africa during the Korean War. Philip assisted his family working on the Van Etten Family Farm and along side his Dad in his auto service garage before beginning a 17 year career with AT&T in White Plains. He enjoyed helping others and was a member of the Plattekill Reformed Church.
Predeceased by his wife, Peg, two sons, Eric and Mark Van Etten and siblings, David Van Etten and Jeanne Bayer. Survivors include three sons: Philip, Craig and his wife Karen and Todd Van Etten; sister, Joanne Krchniak of E. Greenbush, seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His service will be held at a later date with interment in the Mt. Marion Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
