Richard Mignano

SAUGERTIES - Richard Mignano, 86, of Old Rte. 32 died Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.   Born August 16, 1938 in Kingston he was the son of the late Edward and Elsie Mignano.    Rich graduated from Saugerties High School in 1957 and then joined the US Navy where he was a barber on the USS Newport News.  Active in the community he was a 60 yr. member of the CA Lynch Fire Co., and a member of the  Saugerties Exempts Fireman's Assoc.   

After retiring he enjoyed raising rabbits and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Rich and Freckles wintered in Flagler Beach Florida for 30 years. He was an avid swimmer and loved swimming long distances in the Esopus Creek of Saugerties and the Atlantic Ocean of Flagler Beach. 

Rich and Freckles would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this April. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed being outside and taking long walks with his grandchildren Jake and Jared Vickery, Mohammed, Shadia and Samer Serdah, Rachel and Sarah Lackemann, Shiobhan and Alana Nasby and Emma Nasby and great grandchildren Khloe Mignano and Radi Serdah. 

He will be missed by all. 

 Survivors include his wife, Ruth "Freckles"; a daughter, Kim Vickery; stepchildren, Richard (Joan) Nasby, Ruth Ann Serdah, Rosalyn (John) Dragun and Russell Nasby; two grandchildren and nine step grandchildren.   He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Mignano and a step daughter, Renee Dengler.

His funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.  Burial will follow in the Blue Mt.
